The Trohet R Kit Includes
 
Components
  • 2 × Scan-Speak 15W/8530 woofers, supplied as a matched pair
  • 2 × Scan-Speak R2904 tweeters, supplied as a matched pair
  • Complete crossover components for both speakers, including 16 high-quality film capacitors, 14 air-core inductors and 12 × 10W resistors
  • 4 × MDF crossover boards with printed circuit diagrams
  • 16 × oxygen-free internal speaker cables
  • 8 × gold-plated speaker terminals
  • 2 × ports, cut to the correct length with acoustic damping material pre-installed
  • 22 × hex-head screws
  • Polyester acoustic damping material
 
Tools – Optional
If you don't already have the tools required for the build, you can add a complete tool pack to your order.
  • 40W soldering iron
  • Soldering iron holder
  • Solder
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Wood glue
  • 4 × heavy-duty ratchet straps
  • 3mm Allen key
  • Sandpaper, 80–240 grit
  • Cork sanding block
 
Cabinet Flat Pack – Optional
Pre-machined cabinet flat packs are available in Alder, Mahogany, Oak or Birch. Each pair includes left and right front panels for the Trohet R's offset tweeter arrangement.
If you would prefer to make the cabinets yourself, select No cabinet material and detailed cabinet drawings will be supplied with your kit.
 
Please note: Building the cabinets from scratch requires, at minimum, a table saw and router and is recommended for people experienced with woodworking and these tools.
Instructions
 
A detailed video series takes you step by step through the Trohet R build.
Crossover assembly is not included in the video series. Detailed crossover schematics and component layout plans are provided with the kit.
 
Pre-Assembled Crossovers – Optional
If you're not confident soldering and assembling the crossover networks yourself, we can build them for you.
 
Simply select Build the crossovers for me when configuring your kit.
Finishing
 
Varnish is not included due to air-freight restrictions on combustible liquids. Wipe-on polyurethane can be purchased from your local hardware store for about the price of four cups of hipster coffee.
